Can I change or cancel my order?
We process live orders as quickly as possible, so once you've placed it, we're typically unable to make adjustments to your shipping address or items. If you have any changes or cancellations, send us an email at email@example.com as soon as possible with the subject line "Changing my order" or "Cancelling my order", and we'll do our best to help before your order ships out.
Can my order be expedited?
We currently offer two expedited shipping options including 1-2 day shipping and 2-3 day shipping. This selection can be made during checkout.
When will my order ship?
During the holiday season, we work to ship all orders within 2-4 business days from when the order was placed.

What is your return policy?
We stand behind our products and want you to be satisfied with your purchase which is why we offer free returns within the first 60 days from the day your order is delivered. Stock up your kitchen, test the products and if you're not happy, send it back! No questions asked. We can issue returns only to the original form of payment.
If you live in the US, we can provide you a pre-addressed shipping label to assist with your return.
Please note that we are unable to provide return labels for orders in Canada or Europe.

What if there's an issue with my order?

Where is my order shipping from?
We currently ship all orders out of our East Coast warehouse facility in the US.
Where does Misen ship to?
We currently ship orders to the US, Canada, and Europe. Please note that our cookware sets are not available for delivery in Europe. If you live outside of our delivery zone and would like to see Misen in your country, send us a note at email@example.com. Please note that Misen is not responsible for duties, taxes, or additional charges for orders shipped internationally.
What kind of steel do you use for your knives?
Our Chef, Paring & Serrated Knives are made with AUS-10, a high-carbon Japanese stainless steel that offers a great balance of edge retention and durability.
Where are your knives made?
Our knives are made with imported Japanese steel and manufactured just outside of Shanghai.
How often should I sharpen my knife?
How often you need to sharpen your knife depends on how often you use it! At a minimum, we'd suggest 1-2 times a year.
How should I clean my knives?
We highly recommend washing your knives by hand with soap and warm water and drying immediately afterwards.
Please do not put your Misen knives (or any high quality kitchen knife) in the dishwasher. Dishwashers can dull or even damage knife blades and handles.
How should I store my knives?
Please don't store your knives unprotected in a drawer! Other items in the drawer can damage the edge and the knife itself could injure wayward hands reaching in.
Magnetic strips, knife blocks, knife trays, and blade guards all have their advantages, and we’d suggest choosing the one that works best for you.
How does your lifetime sharpening program work?
A sharp knife = safer + more fun to use. While your Misen knife will arrive sharp, with continued use over time it will go dull, as all knives do. We realize not everyone wants to take the time to learn how to sharpen their knives at home (but they should!), so every Misen knife comes with lifetime sharpening.

What sharpening tools do you offer?
We currently offer sharpening stones in 3 different grits.
Which sharpening stone is best for my knife?
Each sharpening stone has a different function. The 220 grit stone will remove a larger amount of material quicker. We recommend this for repairing chips in your blade. The 1000 grit stone should be used on a blade that is dull but not damaged. A 1000 grit stone will remove just enough material to restore the blade edge. The 6000 grit stone should be used to polish and finely hone the blade after using a lower grit stone.
How should I store my sharpening stones?
Make sure to rinse and pat dry your stone after use. When it’s completely dry, you can store it in the box you received it in!
Where are your sharpening stones from?
Our 3 sharpening stones are from a Japanese brand called Naniwa. All manufacturing & crafting of these stones is done by Naniwa in Osaka, Japan.
What is the composition of your 5-ply pans?
Misen Cookware starts with a layer of induction-compatible 18/0 stainless steel, followed by layers of aluminum & aluminum alloy. Finally, it is finished with a layer of food contact safe 18/10 Stainless Steel.
Where is your cookware made?
All Misen Cookware is manufactured just outside of Shanghai.
Is Misen Cookware dishwasher safe?
Yes! All Misen Cookware is dishwasher safe & extremely easy to care for!
Is Misen Cookware oven safe?
Yes! All of our cookware is safe in the oven up to 500ºF.
What stovetops are your cookware compatible with?
Misen Cookware is compatible with all induction, gas & electric stoves.
How do I clean my cookware?
We recommend using a dishwasher or warm soapy water with a plastic scouring pad or sponge. If you have food that is caked on, try a mildly abrasive cleaner like Bar Keeper’s Friend. Make sure to completely dry your cookware before storing it.
How do I preheat my pan?
In order to prevent your ingredients from adhering to your stainless steel pans, you must properly preheat them. Without preheating, the proteins in your food instantly adhere to the cold pan and will be a pain to work with. To see the preheating method in action, click HERE
What is the composition of the pan?
For the base of our nonstick pan we used a 4.2 millimeter thick, commercial-grade aluminum construction. This thick base ensures a flat, even cooking surface for the life of your pan, and helps provide amazing heat distribution for better cooked foods. On the bottom of our pan, we bonded a stainless steel plate to ensure it's compatible with any heat source.
What is the Plasma Primer Layer you talk about?
All nonstick pans have some form of pretreatment, before the nonstick coating is applied. This primer layer is a crucial and often overlooked element in making great nonstick. While most nonstick pans use a traditional 'grit blasting' process, for the Misen Pan we decided to use an innovative Plasma Primer. Infused with Titanium, the Plasma Primer Layer is 2.5 times more effective than the traditional primers, and extends the hardness and abrasion resistance of nonstick coatings.
What type of nonstick coating do you use?
Many cookware companies choose not to disclose the non-stick coating they use because it’s either a low quality coating or they don’t think the customer deserves to know. This is a product that will be used time and time again in your house and your family. We think you deserve to know! For our pan, we use Dupont's premier 3-Layer Platinum coating, modified to work even better with our Plasma Primer. This is a PFOA-Free coating, and is even designed to withstand normal metal utensils and abrasive scouring pads (though you shouldn’t use metal utensils)!
Our nonstick pans are coated with a Dupont’s premier Platinum coating. This coating has excellent durability, a 3-layer reinforced coating system and is excellent for serious chefs.
What is the handle made of?
The Misen Nonstick Pan has a cast stainless steel handle, riveted to the base for a strong, reliable connection that will last. The pan also features a removable stay-cool silicone grip with a textured underside for incredible comfort and control.
Which heat sources are the pan compatible with?
The Misen Nonstick Pan is compatible with all gas, electric, induction & ceramic cooktops.
Is the pan oven safe?
Yes! The Misen Nonstick Pan & removable silicone grip are both oven safe up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
Is the pan dishwasher safe?
We’re going on a mini-rant here. While many brands claim their nonstick pans are 100% dishwasher safe, this is not true! Dishwashers are hard on ANY nonstick pan, and will decrease their lifespan. If you use the dishwasher once in awhile it won’t destroy your pan, but we strongly recommend you wash ANY nonstick pan by hand.
How should I store the pan?
Feel free to stack your pan in cabinets or deep drawers, but make sure you include a protective layer between your pans to prevent scratches or other forms of damage. Even paper towels work!
What type of utensils can I use with this pan?
Our pan has extremely high wear resistance. However, to extend the life of your pan even longer, we recommend using high grade silicone or wooden utensils. Silicone spatulas are great!
Is nonstick cookware safe?
Yes, PTFE cookware (the stuff that makes nonstick cookware nonstick) is safe to cook with, but you should avoid very high temperatures. The Misen Nonstick Pan uses one of the highest grade PTFE coatings on the market and is 100% PFOA-free. For more information, check out this great article.
Can I use cooking spray on this pan?
Try to stay away from aerosol cooking sprays. They tend to leave a sticky residue on your non-stick pan and it’s hard to remove. Rather, feel free to cook without oil or if you’re frying something up, stick to olive or vegetable oil.
What does Misen mean?
Our name comes from 'mise en place'- a culinary term that means "to put in place." Chefs use the term to describe the process of setting up their stations before service. Misen is an ode to mise en place; better cooking through proper preparation with quality tools.
